Yesterday, Marvel Studios announced that they will release a sequel to this summer’s Thor, currently titled appropriately enough Thor 2, in the summer of 2013.
Today we have the announcement of the film’s writer – Don Payne.
If the name isn’t familiar to you, left me fill you in. In addition to working as a writer on The Simpsons, Payne wrote My Super Ex-Girlfriend and worked on an early draft of Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer. Certainly not a resume that inspires confidence. But since Marvel has yet to have released a full-on stinker of a film yet so I’m supposing that Payne must have gone into a meeting with the Marvel Studio brass with one hell of a pitch. Of course, Marvel has a history of using more than one writer on a project, so
The only way his credits could be worse is if he also wrote the Great Depression and the Vietnam War.
