Ray Park Confirms He’ll Be Back For GI JOE 2

Ray Park has confirmed on his twitter feed that he will be back for GI Joe 2, which is scheduled to begin production at some point later this year.

It should be no surprise that Park would be courted back to the franchise as his character Snake Eyes is one of the most popular characters in the whole toy and comic book franchise’s 20-something year history and has already been mooted as one of the very few characters who would probably be returning from the first film. Other characters rumored to return for a second film include Channing Tatum as Duke and Lee Byung-hun as Storm Shadow. Sienna Miller had already announced that she would not be back as the villainous The Baroness, though that doesn’t mean that producers couldn’t recast the role.

As Park notes, Jon Chu, director of the first of the Step Up dance movies will be helming this time around, replacing Stephen Sommers.
