See 5 Seconds From RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

One of the biggest changes being made to the Planet Of The Apes franchise with the upcoming Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is the change of the ape characters being portrayed through computer generated imagery and motion capture performancerather than by actors in make up. It’s an understandable evolution given the advances in technology in the nearly four decades since the last film.

Now we have our first look at how those CGI ape creations will look thanks to a short video released by 20th Century Fox and Academy Award-winning visual effects wizards at WETA Digital. Presumable, this is Andy Serkis as Caesar, the ape who will lead the revolt against their human slavers.

The video premiered today over on the film’s Facebook page. The page will also be hosting a live behind-the-scenes look at the film on Wednesday.
