Last night at the WonderCon show in San Fransisco, an audience got to see ten minutes of footage from the upcoming Warner Brothers comic book adaptation Green Lantern.
Today, Warners has released a four minute version of that footage online. (You cab find it over at the Apple site.) When Warners stated recently that there hadn’t been much in the way of advance looks at the film because of the enormous amount of effect work that needed to be done they were not kidding.
Lantern fans, and I count myself among them, should have a field day trying to identify all the cameos in the shots from Sinestro’s address to the assembled Corps. I’ve been a fan of the book for three decades and I am overwhelmed at all the familiar faces, and non-faces, that have been slipped in there.
Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong. It opens June 17.
I have gone from being cautiously pessimistic to being completely jonesed to see it. It seems to hit all the right notes for what a Green Lantern film should be.
