Buster Keaton’s 1923 classic Our Hospitality will be arriving on Blu-ray March 22 from Kino International. In the film, Keaton plays a city slicker who finds himself in the crossfire of two feuding Southern families in an obvious parody of the stories of the famed Hatfield-McCoy fued.
The release will feature two separate music tracks, one of which is an orchestral score previously unreleased in the United States, a “Making of” documentary and the silent short The Iron Mule (1925) which features a cameo from keaton.
Most interesting the disc will contain a shorter, 49 minute alternate edit of Our Hospitality which is shorn of its jokes which experts theorize Keaton assembled to see if the film’s story held together on its own.
