MAN FROM UNCLE Gets Writers

Super spys Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin are getting ready to fight the evil forces of THRUSH again and this time newcomer writer Max Borenstein will be scripting their adventures. Borenstein has been hired by Warner Brothers to script the studios latest attempt at relaunching their The Man From UNCLE franchise.

Cashing in on the popularity of the James Bond films, The Man From UNCLE ran for four seasons on NBC, making stars out of series leads Robert Vaughn and David McCallum. The show was popular enough to launch a series of tie-ins novels and comic books, a spin-off TV series, The Girl From UNCLE, and saw a TV reunion movie in 1983.

Borenstein seems an unusual choice. His only previously produced credit is a 2003 indie film Swordswallowers And Thin Men, which he also directed. He also has the film Rigged and an untitled Jimi Hendrix bio-pic in development.
