With mediocre director Brett Ratner no longer threatening to direct a big screen revival of Robert E. Howard’s classic pulp hero Conan, he is now casting about for a new property to unleash his ham-fisted directorial style upon. It now looks as if he is turning his attention to one of the many other projects he has been attached to- the Image Comics series Youngblood.
MTV’s Splash Page blog that writers J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani are currently half way through the first draft of a screenplay adapting the comic for the big screen. The news comes from the comics’ creator Rob Liefeld. Liefeld also stated that the film would center on two member of the Youngblood team- the bowman Shaft and government assassin Chapel.
Given the title’s sporadic publication over the years, can we expect the devlopment of this project to go as smoothly?
How can you ruin something that sucks?
