In brightest day, in blackest night...With the successful relaunch of the James Bond franchise under his belt, Warner Brothers is hoping that director Martin Campbell can bring that same kind of magic to their big screen comic book adaptation Green Lanter. Currently Campbell and the studio are in talks for the director to helm the prposed film, according to a report in Variety.

In addition to Casino Royale and a previous Bind film, Goldeneye, Campbell has also helmed the two Zorro movies featuring Antonio Bandaris (The Msk Of Zorro and The Legend Of Zorro), Verticle Limit and the upcoming Mel Gibson film Edge Of Darkness.

We’ll have more to say about this film’s script, written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green ,this evening in our pre-New York Comic Con coverage.
