Honestly, I am a little surprised that the producers would let loose such a major spoiler for a character, in this case MI6 Agent Fields played by Gemma Arterton. It is nice though, that they’re paying homage to Shirley Eaton’s Goldfinger (1964) demise, though with crude oil this time around. And at current prices, crude is probably more expensive than gold!
I think the lesson we can all learn here is to not become romantically involved with James Bond, as it never ends well. But after 45 years of these films, we knew that already, didn’t we?
