1. Bangkok Dangerous (2,650 Theaters, 99 Minutes, Rated R): After weeks of big blockbusters, Wednesday releases, and three films a weekend, we have a nice quiet weekend with only one film. Yay!
Well, maybe I was a bit hasty on that “yay”. In this film, Nicolas Cage plays a hitman who is double crossed and then decides to get payback on those who betrayed them.
Yada, yada, yada, ad infinitum.
I mean, I’ve seen variations on this plot numerous times. And, really, I don’t trust Nicolas Cage to bring anything new to it. I mean, except that awkward name. Bangkok Dangerous? Isn’t that like Scranton Gregarious? Los Angeles Foolish?
