Last week, we informed you that Quentin Tarantino was meeting Brad Pitt to discuss a possible role in his next project, Inglorious Bastards. Well, that meeting was yesterday and Tarantino is wasting no time setting up his next potential casting meeting–Thursday’s confab with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Variety is reporting that the director is set to meet with the Titanic star tomorrow over a role in the new film. The industry paper states that Tarantino wants Pitt to portray a charcter named Aldo Raines and DiCaprio to play a man named Hans Landa.
The character names are interesting. Aldo Raines calls to mind the tough guy actor from the 1950s and 1960s, the late Aldo Ray. Ray coincidentally was also a World War II veteran.
And it might just be the Star Wars fan in me, but Hans Landa makes me think of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. These both might be a coincidence, but then again, they might not.
