X-Files series creator Chris Carter has once again confirmed that the upcoming second film based on his enormously popular 1990s series will NOT be dealing with the show’s convoluted mythology of alien visitation and governmental cover-ups.
As USAToday reports-
“We spent a lot of time on (the mythology) and wrapped up a lot of threads” when the show went off the air in 2002, says Chris Carter, creator of the series and director of the new movie. “We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one.”
The USA Today story is also the source of this new picture of the film’s stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. (Click to make bigger)
