PUNISHER: WAR ZONE

They say that third times a charm and everyone behind the upcoming Punisher: War Zone is probably hoping that it holds true for their upcoming comic book adaptation. While many have, luckily for them, forgotten the 1989 Dolph Lundgren-starring attempt to bring the gritty, gun-totting vigilante to the screen, the 2004 version starring Thomas Jane is still fresh in memory. Both versions fell short of delivering on the promise of the material.

While it is unclear that director Lexi Alexander will be able to succeed where others have failed, we do have a first look at Ray Stevenson in the title role. The picture below, released today, at least looks promising. We only have to wait until September 2008 to find out.
