Academy Announces Animated Feature Contenders

 

     November 17, 2005- Ten films have made the initial ballot for consideration for the 2006 Best Animated Feature Academy Award the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today.

 

     According to Academy rules, in any year where there are between eight and fifteen eligible film, three will be selected for the final nomination. Eligible animated features are also eligible for nominations in other Academy Award categories, including Best Picture, so long as they meet the eligibility requirements of those categories.

 

The Academy Award nominations will be announced on January 31, 2006.

 

The eligible films are-

 

·          Chicken Little

·          Gulliver's Travel

·          Hoodwinked

·          Howl's Moving Castle

·          Madagascar

·          Robots

·          Steamboy

·          Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

·          Valiant

·          Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
