ASC Announces Award Nominees By Rich Drees
January 11, 2006- The American Society of Cinematographers has announced the five nominees for their annual Outstanding Achievement Award.
“The five nominees were chosen by their peers who believe that their artful and seamless cinematography significantly contributed to the success of these compelling movies,” says ASC Awards Committee chair Russ Alsobrook in a press statement. “It wasn’t an easy decision because many talented cinematographers did extraordinary work last year. Each of the cinematographers was successful in creating a sense of time and place that transports audiences to imaginary worlds. They visually punctuated the emotional flow of their films in ways that are consistent with the intentions of the scriptwriters, directors and actors who were among their collaborators.”
The winner will be name on February 26, 2006 at the Society’s 20th Annual Outstatnding Achievement Awards show in Los Angeles.
