In Remembrance: Keith Knight

 

     Keith Knight, the Canadian actor who appeared as a camp counselor alongside rising star Bill Murray in the hit 1979 comedy Meatballs, has passed away on August 22, 2007 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was 51.

 

     Born in 1956 in Saulte Ste. Marie, Ontario, Knight made his big screen debut in Meatballs as heavyset counselor-in-training Larry “Fink” Finkelstein, one of the crazy summer camp counselors led by Murray. Knight continued to appear in Canadian-shot films through most the 1980s including My Bloody Valentine (1981), Class Of 1984 (1982) and Of Unknown Origin (1983).

 

     Knight’s career segued into primarily more television and voiceover work for the next two decades as well as appearing in numerous regional stage productions. His final screen appearance was in the 2004 drama Looking For Angelina.
