Director Brad Michael Gilbert has cast Juliette Lewis in his updating of the 1957 Federico Fellini classic Nights Of Cabiria, titled The Days Of Mary.
Fellini’s film followed a heartbroken prostitute as she attempts to find love and happiness in Rome. It won the Italian neo-realist director the 1958 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Gilbert has co-written this new version with Meg McGarry and reset the action to Reno, Nevada.
We haven’t really seen Lewis in a role that would showcase her acting chops in some time and this certainly looks like a good opportunity for her to remind people of what she’s got.
